THELMA in the Interdisciplinary Conference Feeling Machines: Gender, Technologies, and Capitals (Vilnius)



During the Interdisciplinary Conference Feeling Machines: Gender, Technologies, and Capitals, held at the Contemporary Art Centre (CAC) in Vilnius/Lithuania (May, 14-15), the paper “The Rise of Femtech: Commodifying Women's Emotions and Menstrual Health,” explored an initial debate about the intersections of gender, technology, and the commodification of women's bodies and emotions.

The presentation was part of the panel “The Algorithmic Gaze: Surveillance, Stereotypes, and the Regulation of Bodies,” chaired by Hanna Seliazniova and with insightful contributions from Maria Kornienko and Valeria Baravets.

This conference, organized as part of the @projectwomenintech initiative, showcased an impressive range of topics in gender studies, which will further be published.
