THELMA in the Roundtable "Feminism at the Digital Age: What’s Next?" - King’s College London Gender Studies Network

On May 14, 2026, we attended the roundtable “Feminism in the Digital Age: What’s Next?”, organised by the King’s College London Gender Studies Network. It was an inspiring afternoon that offered valuable insights into the challenges facing feminism in the digital era.

One of the key questions that resonated after the event was: Whose voices and perspectives are included in the development of these technologies? From an intersectional perspective, Dr. Jan Etienne challenged us to reflect on the underrepresentation of Black women in technology design and production.

In addition, Dr. Tuğçe Bidav presented findings from her current research on digital labour, highlighting the gendered dimensions of work in sectors such as delivery services, particularly among female workers.

Overall, the event was both inspiring and meaningful, encouraging new ways of thinking about the intersections of gender, law, and technology.
