THELMA in the DiVE Conference on "Remedies to Digital Vulnerability in European Private Law - Trieste/Italy

On April 11, as part of THELMA activities, the paper titled "Women’s Digital Vulnerability in the FemTech Context: Building Gender-sensitive Remedies for Data Protection" was presented at the DiVE Conference on "Remedies to Digital Vulnerability in European Private Law." The event took place at the Università degli Studi di Trieste, Italy.

The presentation was part of a panel that included Siniša Rodin from the Court of Justice of the European Union, Hélène Guiziou from Panthéon-Assas University, and Fernanda Nicola from American University Washington College of Law, who chaired the session.

The debate among private international lawyers brought forth inspiring thoughts on recognizing women as vulnerable data subjects under the GDPR.

As highlighted during the presentation, it is crucial to develop gender-sensitive remedies for data protection to ensure the safeguarding of women's data.

The paper will be published as a book chapter by Springer in the future as part of the Conference proceedings.
